Umbria Aurora — June digest

Like always, there’s been a lot going on (so much so we’re hiring), but June has been dominated by all things Narni…

 

In case you hadn’t heard, Narni bridge will be the next Umbria product to be rolled out. It’s at an advanced stage of development and we’re very excited about it.

 

Why? Simple: it will facilitate quick, frictionless and cheap cross-chain transactions. Initially it’ll enable the transfer of $UMBR between the Ethereum Mainnet and Matic Mainnet and then developed to be compatible with other assets and any EVM compatible chain.

Arab EmTech 2021 — Demystifying DeFi and lowering the barriers to entry

 

 

Lead developers Barney and Oscar Chambers, and crypto guru Stefania Barbaglio hosted an impressive one hour seminar on June 17th at the Arab EmTech 2021 conference.

They covered a lot of DeFi ground discussing everything from earning passive income via farming, challenges in DeFi (low speed, high fees and poor user experience) and innovation in DeFi through to Layer 2 solutions and chain interoperability, importance of community building and decentralisation vs centralisation.

The team introduced the audience to Umbria showcasing our work with Polygon; the DEX, farming features and the upcoming cross chain bridge.

Holders of UMBR-MATIC LP tokens can add these to the Farm (https://maticfarm.umbria.network/farms), which is on Polygon chain, to earn more $UMBR. This is a portion of the one token minted per minute, according to the amount staked. The UMBR-MATIC farm currently has an APY of 191%.
